Cairns, Australia (Oct 16-18)

I had a weekend getaway with my friend Narumon at the Great Barrier Reef. I've been wanting to see the place for a long time and finally managed to experience it.

Day started with a cruise to the Green Island, it took us 45 minutes by boat to reach the island.

"That's where we are heading"

the lovely turquoise water (where we snorkel)

We spent 3 hours at the island, snorkeling and roaming around then head off to the reef. It took us another 30-40 min by boat to get there. The boat ducked beside a floating flatform complete with all the amenities we needed.

As soon as we arrived at the platform, we headed straight to the semi-submarine ride for half an hour. This was a pretty cool experience and something different (at least for me). You actually submerged into the water while inside the submarine, the glass window lets you enjoy the massive reef at your own pleasure.

When we went back to the platform, an awesome buffet lunch was waiting for us.

Few minutes of rest, and we started gearing-up for our 3-hour snorkeling at the great barrier reef. It was really exciting.

We managed to go back to Cairns downtown city past 5PM, went back to the hotel to change then had seafood dinner. I like my kiwi mojito cocktail too!

We went around for some shopping then tried the famous crepe (people are queuing at this crepe shop).

Then looked around the city and walk by the coast to go back to the hotel. I love to experience luxury every so often, I feel pampered and blessed.

When we arrived back in Brisbane on Sunday we decided to have a sumptuous Korean food.

Life is great!

Look I didn't even get a tan after being under the scorching sun whole day of Sat (photo taken on Sunday before we left the hotel).
